We are looking for a flatmate who will join our unique home. Who we are:

Len, who owns the house is a 60ish and in a wheelchair for mobility, is a avid sports fan , especially rugby and cricket, a card player with a good (some say strange?) sense of humour. He gets around in a powered wheelchair.

Tracey (60ish), is a doer and a force of nature when it comes to organising households. She spends a fair bit of time travelling to garden shows and housesitting. When she is home you’ll find her organising everything, cleaning or tending to the garden, She is undergone medical treatment recently and although she has recovered well her assistance level for Len is compromised.

Ezra is a 50yr old man and although is currently not working but is a great asset around the home, a good basic cook and is very helpful to me (Len).

What we offer and what we’re looking for: Len owns the house, and in return for some fixed care assistance each day, offers a comfortable place to live including internet, SKY, Netflix, heat and power! Flatmates contribute $160 per week to consumables. This allows just about ANYTHING any individual wants. Len, is pretty autonomous and needs help to bed at night. This involves a bit of knowledge of using a hoist and positioning me correctly but Ezra knows how to do it all show you the ropes (I'm capable of giving instructions too!). It is a shared job and we work it to suit each other’s routines. Everything else is standard flatting stuff such as cooking (Tracey looks after herself on a special diet), cleaning and washing. We like to keep the place clean and tidy, so doing housework is all part of the package. Bedrooms are private areas and there are no rules with the exception of no smoking or vaping anywhere inside. The house is fully furnished but flatmates are welcome to bring their own if preferred. The daily routine for Len is as follows: ● 9am – Len’s personal carers (not flatmates) get him up, showered, dressed and breakfasted. ● 12pm - Mon, Tue, Wed, Sat and Sun Len often goes out to play cards. Anyone willing may drive him there and back, but this is not a requirement of the arrangement. ● 4.30 – 5pm Len returns home ● 6-7pm ish Len goes onto bed to rest for which he needs assistance (again easily learnt). Dinner usually in bed ● 10.30pm ish – Len settles for the night and again needs assistance (yet again, easily learnt)

We like to think we are a light hearted and humorous household and bad habits only extend to 00% alcohol (Dr. advice) for Len but not a requirement for others. We are a non-smoking house. All flatmates are fully vaccinated and boosted and we ask that all new housemates and visitors are as well. We are happy to chat and answer any questions you may have.

Female, is a doer and a force of nature when it comes to organising households. She has health issues and as such cannot contribute as much as she would like in assisting Len, but, her ability to organise things, knowing what needs to be done etc. is 2nd to none. She likes gardening and going on garden tours so tends to be away a bit, but this is still very much her home.
