About the flat
We are offering a lovely 4th floor apartment [PHOTOS COMING SOON] in the northern part of Christchurch's CBD. 2 bed/1 bath/sep. toilet/laundry/open plan living and kitchen/balcony. WE ARE NOT A PARTY HOUSE (you are welcome to have a few friends over, even for the night if you wish but we DO NOT HOST PARTIES). Located nearby Hagley Park, Margaret Mahy Playground and the Avon River providing for lots of green spaces and walk/cycle trails. Also a quick commute to the Bus Interchange that offers limitless buses to pretty much everywhere in Christchurch and to outskirt towns like Rolleston, Kaiapoi and Rangiora (this could be ideal for someone who wishes to be based in central Christchurch and works elsewhere, or has a commute to U.C and needs a bus from the interchange), and is an easy 20 minute walk to Ara Institute (or 5 min walk from Bus Interchange).
There are many bus routes 27, 1, 95, 29, 44 on either end of Salisbury St, and surrounding Manchester and Colombo St's) ensuring nothing is inaccessible from home. A quick walk around the block (in front of Kilmore St Town Hall) will grant access to route 29 bus that goes to CHC airport too!
Of course, this is aimed at people who prefer to travel via bus, however this flat also comes with its own (FREE) allocated park in the apartment complex secure gated carpark (RARE IN THE CBD). Current flatmates don't have a vehicle so it'd be all yours! There is also a sheltered, secure bike rack if cycling is your thing.
About the flat itself, there is as mentioned. Healthy Homes Approved. In the kitchen, you would have access to your own shelving for food, as well as your own refrigerator drawer that's separate from the main fridge (ideal for those with food allergies, but of course you can use main refrigerator space, too!). We also have a built-in oven, dishwasher, freezer, yoghurt maker, air-fryer, microwave, kettle - pretty much all the essentials. We have most general cutlery/utensils, we have only been here for a month ourselves so we're still setting up, but we do have glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, knives/forks/spoons etc, and we are adding more to our actual cooking utensil inventory - feel free to bring your own but we likely have enough for everyone since it'll only be 3 of us. We also have a small camping vacuum, brush/pan/broom for small messes and we have a cordless Electrolux stick vacuum for full apartment cleans located in the living room. We have cleaning supplies, cloths etc, but please feel free to bring your own too!
We have a LOVELY sheltered yet sun drenched balcony, very generously sized and is home to a couple of houseplants. We use it mainly to sit outside, watch sunsets and dry washing. Plenty of potential but that's its current use.
Living room currently doesn't have a typical set-up, we have a computer desk set up, a yoga mat, and there will be space used for Aleisha's beauty therapy bed (which may have a room divider in place for privacy), and are currently 2 good quality camping chairs and a beanbag for comfortable seating. There are also 2 built in cupboards in the living room, one with the HWC and one that's being used as part linen storage and part storage for boxes from moving. Like I say it's not the typical set-up, but it works for us and are of course open to your input if you'd like to contribute to the set-up! :) We're open minded people and are keen for anything (within reason). We are also planning to invest in a projector for the living room, a bit more affordable than a TV and we'd just project onto a wall or the blind that covers the balcony doors at night, or whenever we want, to watch a movie. Of course, if you do have a TV (or any other living room furniture that you wish to bring), we can make arrangements to get that set up.
In the small but functional main bathroom, there is a wide sink with plenty of storage beneath (you would have your own drawer space) and a lovely shower (you will have your own space in our shower caddy, or you can bring your own that we could put in and/or replace our current one with) and heated towel rail. Opposite the bathroom is the separate toilet, and only 3 of us so won't ever be a huge wait. No windows in the bathroom, but plenty of extractor fan action!
Other end of the hallway, is a front-loading washing machine, with a dryer function too but we've never used it as it uses more water, plus the fact we have a sun drenched balcony that works perfectly well for drying washing.
THE FLATMATES:
Aleisha: Beauty Therapy student at Ara. Likes to maintain a clean, tidy, harmonious home. I enjoy cooking, yoga, doing housework and relaxing at home. I'm not a party person however I do enjoy a few drinks every now and then, and I'm not opposed to having friends over. I'm more of a flatmates as friends type person, I like to think I'm approachable and friendly enough for a casual chat/hangout :)

About the room
You will be staying in a lovely, warm, bountiful storage, east facing bedroom. It has enough room for a double bed (not included, BYO sorry) bedside drawers, and maybe a small desk, and no need to worry about drawers (or may be able to fit in the wardrobe?) as the wall is lined with a built in wardrobe, additional cupboard space with shelves, and space between the cupboards and ceiling). I have included some coat-hangers, a pants hanger, additional shelving for small items, a queen-sized duvet inner, and a few different sized fabric storage cubes. The room itself has a tv connector to the wall and plenty of wall power outlets. It is a warm room, that while doesn't get bathed in sun during the day, it does get a period of evening sun that honestly makes that end of the apartment glow in the evenings, and is overall a lovely, pleasant bedroom. The carpet is nice and thick and covers the full floor (just thought to specify as not all rooms esp in the CBD have fully carpetted bedrooms), keeping it warm and homely. Feel free to decorate with warm fairylights etc to add to the warm atmosphere of the room, we have done the same in our bedroom, it adds so much! Unfortunately, there is no door lock to the room. Of course, we will never go into each others rooms without permission, but currently there is no lock.
Preferred flatmate
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SUPERSTAR FLATMATE TO ADD TO OUR HARMONIOUS APARTMENT IN CHCH'S CBD! :)
We are looking for someone who is: - Friendly! - Tidy (cleanliness is important!) - Student or Young Professional (Flatmates are early 20's, so ideally aged 18-25) (LGBTQ+ friendly flat :)) - Capable of paying the bills on time! (you will go through us first, then be forwarded onto the property manager to be officially vetted then added as a tenant) - Quiet (well, not loud to the point it disrupts our harmonious atmosphere or provokes complaints from neighbouring apartments) - Respectful to the flat and flatmates (we reciprocate kindness and respect!) - Just wants to have a really positive year living in a lovely apartment :)
If you think you fit the brief and want to get in touch, please do!

Meet the flatmates
Kia ora! Hello!
My name is Aleisha (girl on the right in photo), I live in Christchurch. I'm a fun, easy-going, passionate, honest, friendly, clean/tidy, caring individual. I love animals, bit of a Swifty, cooking, cleaning, love to chat, music, go for a tramp up in the port hills, shopping trips, love an occasional cycle around the city, keen for the gym, love having down-time at home, and just want to live a happy life. I am currently studying beauty therapy at Ara, and will be having my own wee setup from home to practice on (if you're keen to have a cheeky facial/pamper then I'd be grateful for the practice! :)) If I sound like an ideal potential flatmate for you, I'd love to meet you! I am very flexible and don't mind a shared cooking/cleaning/expensed household, I love the idea of cooking for each other and eating together and sharing those responsibilities to make life just that bit easier! But if individual responsibilities is how you operate then that's cool too! I have a partner too who will have his own wee description! :)
