Coming to Wellington from Washington, DC to study for a Masters in Software Development at Victoria University.

My Bachelor's was in International Studies and I used to work for the US government but was DOGE'd the first week of this new hostile administration.

I'm a social introvert. I like my alone time but I have a lot of friends and am pretty central to an extensive social network, at least in DC. I like to cook, play board games, and host events. The event I'm known for in the friend group is a two-day game based on the CBS reality show Survivor - people compete in challenges, vote each other out, etc. - I have a whole film crew and everything.

I like to travel and experience new things - been to quite a few countries (my photos are taken in Indonesia and Costa Rica). I am conversational in Spanish.

Not averse to physical activity. Used to ballroom dance way back when. Recently went on a backpacking trip with friends across the Massanutten range in Virginia. Used to kayak but haven't in a while.

But like I said, I need my introverted time to unwind. I kind of hop between 'types' of media. I'll read a book, then binge watch an entire show, then play a videogame, read another book, get into a movie spree, etc. Been reading a few nonfiction books lately, but will read a novel every now and then. Been playing Helldivers II and Minecraft off and on (my brother got me sucked back in). And the last movies I watched was Soylent Green (1973) and Seven Samurai (1954), although I had already seen Seven Samurai previously.

Idk I'll think of more to add here but hopefully this gave a good enough snapshot of me

About me
Looking for a fully furnished place with a decent kitchen setup. A standard fridge size (with freezer), an oven, a stove top, a microwave, and a decent amount of counter space. A flat with a dish washer and washing machine/dryer would be a bonus too but might be flexible on those. I would also want the place to have some type of AC/heating. Also important is bathroom arrangement, how many bathrooms are there and how many people will be sharing a bathroom. I would prefer if I'm sharing a bathroom with only one other person and it's not like 5 to one bathroom. Would also be good to have a double or queen sized bed, not just a single, but am flexible on this. Looking for a place that is central to Wellington, so like north Te Amo or south Thornton, perhaps on the Terrace but also easily accessible to Victoria University's Pipitea Campus near the bay. Would also be good to know where you buy groceries from (and how far those places are from you), as well as the closest gym, and the closest bus/public transit stop. When it comes to price, looking to see if I can find the best located fully furnished place, with not too many flatmates sharing bathrooms, with a good kitchen setup, for the best price. So looking to see what's out there.
